Doug was born in Quincy, IL, a small town nestled along the banks of the Mississippi River in central Illinois. However, he wasted no time getting to Texas, because at the age of 1, he moved with his family to Ft. Worth, TX. It was there, at age 7, that Doug gave his life to Jesus Christ. At 17, he surrendered to God’s call to teach and preach His Word. Within a month of surrendering, Doug preached his first sermon at the rescue mission in downtown San Antonio, TX.
Since 1992, Doug has served in several churches as youth director, adult Sunday school teacher, small group leader, and he has been honored to fill in behind the pulpit on numerous occasions when needed. He was a member of The Gideons International from 2007 to 2011, where he served as the Chaplin of the Tomball camp and Vice President of the NW San Antonio camp and was a qualified church speaker. Doug is excited and honored to continue serving his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ here at Hill Country Church!
